Always a firm believer in travel being the best stimulation for creativity and self discovery, Nisha found a kindred soul in Elizabeth Gilbert and her story/book Eat Pray Love. Taking a literally, a leaf out of this book, Nisha’s new collection Attraversiamo is inspired by her own Eat Pray Love journey of Italy, India and Bali. The term Attraversiamo means ‘Lets cross over’ and this collection is the designers ode to how travel has contributed to her personal and creative journey.
From the sights and sounds, to the food and the culture and spirituality in each country, the collection draws inspiration from different elements that touched her during her travels. The prints of this collection are a mix of quirky and beautiful, from the Italian vespas to Bali temple architecture and the famous Indian elephant. The colour palette is fresh and light, and it plays with feminine, flowy and easy silhouettes.
This time around the designer has also experimented with the motifs being used for embroidery in the contemporary, minimalistic Indian pieces which are an extension of this collection.
